Simply Final Fantasy. Simply amazing.
Simply Final Fantasy. Simply amazing.
I cant stand the ugly, half-a***d, silly 3D characters and environment. The original Super Nintendo version was beautiful, why do the characters have to look like prepubescent, cartoon, in-proportionate children? What is this, Nickelodeon or Cartoon Network? I thought I could get past it when I bought it, but every time anyone speaks, or does anything for that matter in the game, the serious tone is ruined by the unavoidably foolish presentation. I just cant stand it. I threw away my money. Dont buy this game if you have any sort of good taste. If the devs want to port the original snes version without these nasty, ugly, childish, stupid graphics, I would pay 40 bucks for it: the game is a classic. Otherwise, unless you like playing a game that is written to be very serious and dark, but is ruined by your protagonists cartoony head which is about 3 times larger than his emaciated body, dont buy it.
I am pretty much at the last part. I just need to level grind. The game is fun, and the cutscenes are awesome! Mario RPG legend of the seven stars got me into Final Fantasy series and I must say this is a perfect portable game. Just wish it had the CGI cutscenes. 4 out of 5 star.
Update: Still runs perfectly. I for one love the 64 bit polygonal graphics. Takes me back to my N64 days. $&@%# the people bashing these games because of that...theyre probably only 10 or 11 years old or something The very first Final Fantasy game I ever played was FF IV, and I was was like 12 or 14 or something I cant really remember. I just remember that it was my birthday and my grandma took me to Walmart to buy a gameboy advance SP and a copy of Final Fantasy IV advance. I played that game non stop until my eyeballs fell out of my head, remembering the final boss being the most epically brutal sob in the history of all RPGs. So I set out on a quest to purchase and beat all the FF games on the App Store in order, and a couple of weeks ago I finally made it to the almighty number 4! First off, I always considered FF 4 to be the best in the series once I started to play the others in the years since that fateful day, but when I made it to FF III in the App Store, my memories of FF 4 soon faded and I considered 3 to be my new fav in the series because it BLEW ME AWAY! But I knew that once I made it to 4 in the App Store, that it would most assuredly reclaim its throne, and indeed it has. Everything about the game is flawless. Not only the fact that as with FF III, there are absolutely no technical bugs to speak of whatsoever, but I felt like a kid again for the 30+ hours of the incredibly rich nostalgia-laden gameplay. Every boss, every dungeon, every heartfelt moment, which might I add have been made a million times more heartfelt this time around due to the amazing 3D graphics and dialogue infused cinamatic cutscenes. The only problem I think I have with this version is that they (spoiler alert) have completely removed the Lunar Ruins bonus dungeon that you unlock by beating the game. It consists of 50 floors and at the end was the third and final stage of the last boss Zeromus...the almighty Zeromus EG!!!! Unfortunately that was one of the only memories I had lest of FF 4 so I was pretty disappointed to find out it was removed. But all in all...I am a very very happy man!!!!
The game is brilliant. A must have for any Final Fantasy fan. It plays well, and Ive never had one issue with the game. The graphics, gameplay, and story just being back all the nostalgia from my childhood.
Low FPS in battles makes this unplayable. Terrible remake.
I hate this business model by SEnix where they completely change the graphic style of their old games. They either do what hey did with FF6 and restyle their sprites by making them goofy and blurry; or they do what they did with this game by making it look like it was made at the beginning of the N64s life. I would pay full price for remakes of these classics with just HD graphic upgrades and high quality sprites. Look at Final Fantasy Brave EXVIUS for how sprite graphics should look. Beautiful artwork that retains the personalities. Tl:dr amazing story and nostalgic. Awful graphic style
FF2 (as it was called back when it was released for SNES in the early 90s) was the first RPG I ever played. I was a little skeptical of this when I bought it, but 6 bucks isnt a big investment so I decided why not. This was an awesome play. I loved the fancy renderings of the dungeons that were so basic in the original version. I love that they added some dimension and backstory to the characters, and all in all it was a big improvement. The 3D characters were not cheesy or overly cartoonish and the voice acting was good. I was very impressed. The monsters, on the other hand, were funky to me, specifically the difficulty and certain attacks (laser barrage, anyone?). I remember the final boss in the SNES version being extremely hard even though I had raised my characters to level 80+. I fought the final boss with all my characters levels between 72 and 76 and I absolutely pwned him. He didnt even cast Big Bang. Just meteor once and everyone survived. I was worried as I was going through the final dungeon when some of the enemies were laying waste to my party and I had to run from every battle during the last 3 levels, but no. Some random mobs hit much harder than the final boss which is weird, but everything else was great. Will definitely be playing through again.
Very expansive and lengthy,I recommend it to every RPG gamers.
The 3D version of this game is so distracting that I feel like I cant breathe every time I try to play it. The screen is stretched and you can see this easily by looking at the fonts. Why the PSP version wasnt ported to mobile is beyond me; that version retained the original 2D graphics, but enhanced. Go play this game on an emulator and do not buy this one. Oh, and the game can do without the voice acting. Give me a break.
Dont get me wrong, I love Final Fantasy IV. Its actually one of my favorite Final Fantasy games. However, I dont know why they chose to go with the DS port (slow frame rate with ugly graphics and stupid character design) instead of the PSP port (a visual remaster of the classic 2D game for the SNES). My biggest issue is the frame rate. It makes the battles much slower than they are, and it just isnt easy on the eyes. Also, I cant take any of the cutscenes in this game seriously because of the Wind Waker style models. Terrible port for a good game.
Loved it. Played a difficult version and it kicked my butt. But I cleared it! Highly recommended.
A really great game, the UI is an epic fail. Besides it crashes quite often on battles and treasures. iPhone 5 wide screen adaption must be a joke. FF3 interface was ugly but much better in terms of UX (opinion from a Lead UI Designer)
Still no iPhone 6 optimization
I dont speak japanese...the game doesnt offer the option to change the language. Mine is in English and the legend is in Portuguese. I bought because I though it was English voice with English legend. Its like Chaos Rings. Ive bought the first one the day that was released. The worst app Ive ever bought in my life. Cant change the voices of the character to English. This is e last app I bought from Square Enix. I love FF Ive played every game from its series but all in ENGLISH.
The game must have iCloud support such FF Tactics.
WE WANT FINAL FANTASY 7 !!! WIR WOLLEN FINAL FANTASY 7 !!!
This was the first rpg I ever played when I was a kid and its been redone in a big way. The graphics are great for an app and the script has been cleaned up while staying true to the original story. Well worth the $15 price tag, a must play for fans.
My favorite final fantasy game ever!! However wondering if others r having same issue. Gil u get from battles is very low hard to save up for armor and such. But still awesome game
A little bit weird and confusing at the begging but overall a great game!
